BUNTEP student could STOP a tsunami!

An Oxford House BUNTEP student has been the only person on this planet to invent a method to slow down / stop an advancing tsunami.

He submitted his ideas in an essay, part of the class work. He developed his theory just overnight after first learning about tsunamis for the first time during 2001. The course material included a poster and several short videos, a bit unusual for a course delivered to a remote community in northern Manitoba.

If taken seriously, his ideas would save thousands of lives.

We see the tragic aftermaths of tsunamis. Sometimes people don't know about tsunamis (certainly few people knew about tsunamis in 2001), others know about them, but do not do anything to slow them down.

This is the contribution the BUNTEP program has made to rural / aboriginal Manitoba.
